Curve NY Preview: Discovering fashion nursing bras

Interestingly, not quite long ago, it seems that the fashion industry put women in two big categories. First, the “normal ones”, meaning, the 20 to 45 years old women which are healthy, proportionate with no additional conditions and want to be pretty. Second, the others. Plus size women, fullbusted women, pregnant women, older women, women with breasts cancer or any medical condition which requires special garments. For a long time all the women in this big category had only the choice between boring lingerie or boring lingerie. Because obviously they had better thing to mind than being pretty.
Now I can’t complain, I was born at the right time and since I started to be interested in this industry I only saw improvements, years after years.

DSC00730Cache-Coeur lingerie: (from left to right) Khali in Honey, Iris in Noir, Iris in Nude, Khali in Night blue

At Curve this year, I had the pleasure to discover some cute or rather sexy options for every type of women. So today I want to focus on brands that offer maternity bras!
The first one I have come across was Cache-Coeur lingerie.
Cache-Coeur lingerie is a French brand specialized in lingerie and loungewear for pregnant women. The first thing I noticed was that they featured underwired bras. I used to hear that wires were not good for pregnant women breasts tissue but lately I started hearing that you just need to be wearing the right size and then, it should be safe.

DSC00736The Magic bra in the Petal colorway, going from a French C to F cup, with bands from 32 to 40 (85 to 105). Also available in Black and Nuage (Cloud), which is a lovely light blue.

I love to see beautiful detailing in nursing lingerie, like these cute ruched straps and this draped microfiber at the side of the cups. Did you also notice the tiny pearls at the gore? This bra actually looks like a “normal” bra and I am sure non pregnant women could be happy to wear it based on its aesthetique. As you can see, it still features magnetic nursing clips so that it can be pretty and practical at the same time.

Here is the Cache-coeur Iris wireless bra in white. This bra goes from a French C to F cup, with bands from 32 to 40 (85 to 105). It is available in three colorways “nude” , black and white. Can you believe it is the same as the black one of the first picture? Lace can look so different from one colorway to another!

Lisa is a three-part balconnet bra made from soft microfibre and lace. Like most of Cache-coeur bras, it features band from 32 to 40 and cups from French C to F (no double letters), this bra is also available in four colorways : Pearl, Khaki, Black, and Fig.
I like this adorable big bow and the detail on the cup seam adds some classiness to the design.

Opéra plunge half padded bra looks more like a bedroom garment than an everyday one which is nice to see in a nursing bras collection! I like to see some ruffles and adventurous plunge shape where nobody expect them.

The Aquarelle is a balconnet bra featuring a soft floral microfibre and cute white lace at the top of the cup. It comes from a C to H cup with bands from 32 to 40.

DSC00747On the left Illusion bralette in Cassis, on the right Illusion Dentelle bralette “vintage” colorway (S-M-L-XL)

The Lollypop wireless bra is mean to give a “retro-chic” look, while providing support and comfort. I like that this wireless bra goes up to a H cup. It’s interesting to see the difference between the black one and the beige one. It is exactly the same design through the whole size range, so I would love to see how this bra look on different bodies.

DSC00752Lollypop wireless bra in Black (32-40 band, C to H cup), also available in Grenadine.

These bras look all sweet and comfy, and even if you can’t see the coordinates very well, I found them to be lovely. Cache-coeur swimwear is also pretty. I love the english embroidery-inspired design on the red one.

These swimsuits go from S to XL. Some of them have an inner bra to provide more support, but none of these are bra sized.

Also look at their imagery! It makes nursing lingerie look very glamorous and fashion.

I also came across the brand Bella Materna which makes nursing bras from B to J cup with bands from 30 to 40 and coordinates from S to XXL. Note that this brand uses European sizing.

Here is the Peacock wire free bra, which is supposed to fit women from 32B to 38E. However this bralette isn’t bra sized. The sizing system goes from S to XL.
S= 32D to F/34C to E/36B to C
M=34E to F/ 36D to E/38B to C
L=36C to F/ 38B to D

Here is the Vine lace t-shirt bra from the Nacita collection, in Navy. This bra actually goes up to a J cup. It is available as a nursing bra and as a “normal” bra.

The Vine lace t-shirt bra in khaki. I love the cameo detail at the gore, and the combination color is super sweet and warm. I find it pretty delicate for a t-shirt bra.

DSC01143The Pretty sexy bra which is also available in B to J cup.

Bella Materna designs are definitely looking like everyday lingerie for non-pregnant women, and I especially like this Peacock bralette because it looks quite different from the usual offer for nursing lingerie. This brand also does custom sizing! It’s very refreshing to see the lingerie industry evolving to reach women expectations!

I think you guys have heard of Cake lingerie before, but I didn’t know much about them until this summer. Their size range goes from A to HH cup with bands from 30 to 42. However this isn’t the case for all of their bras.

The Truffles plunge nursing bras goes up to a F cup with bands from 32 to 38. Its cups feature a 3/4 foam to provide a nice shape and comfort. Again a very deep plunge, and feminine design. I love that the designer didn’t neglect the back of the coordinate!

The Chinotto tankini and brief set is made for fuller bust from D to I cup. This is a very sporty style and it looks very supportive! The bikini are very low rise to accommodate a growing belly.

DSC00863(Seriously, the cutest smile☺️)

This might sound stupid but I didn’t know sports nursing bras existed. I mean, I know pregnant women do sports but I wouldn’t imagine that they would need nursing clips. Well, the Lemon zest sports bra has been made to be super comfortable and supportive. Actually it must be the more secure sports bra I have ever seen. The design is quite sporty and fits women up to a 42H cup (UK). It has flexible wires that should be gentle to the breasts and also moulded cups.

I have already talked about the Sugar Candy bralette in my last Curve NY preview! So here is a reminder that this bra comes as a nursing option as well!

Also Mayana Genevière lingerie, that I featured in my fashion bralette preview already, has the particularity that its lingerie is made to accommodate a changing body. Meaning that even if the garments don’t feature nursing clips, they are made with breastfeeding in mind.

Here is the Camille “Before and Beyond” chemise, which is made to make you feel beautiful and comfortable through your body’s transitions. It features a built-in bra and can be use for breast-feeding as well.

I am happy to see improvements on this aspect of the lingerie industry, although I wish some styles came in a wider size range!

What do you think of these collections? Do you find it easier nowadays to find garments that please your eyes during pregnancy? Did you know about all these brands already?

Let me know your thought in the comments section! 😘

Take care, the flu season has started already! (I’m actually sick lol)

Curve NY Preview: Some full-bust bralettes options for SS18!

Something I like with lingerie is that everything you can dream about eventually happens. I mean, when I was a teen, (which was only 5 years ago) I could never imagine a bralette that would fit me, let alone make me feel good about my breasts. Just like every body I tried Calvin Klein bralettes, which might eventually look sexy for a few times but really aren’t made for fullbust/small backs so obviously tend to stretch out a lot. And as a stubborn person I tried other bralettes from other big brands which all ended the same way.

And then I discovered indies lingerie brands. From that point I mostly only trusted made-to-measurements bralettes featuring hooks and eyes. Apparently I am not the only one since the industry came up with new bralette options this year!

You must have heard of  Bluebella More range since Sweet Nothings, Le Salon de Frivolité and A Tale of two boobs among other bloggers have reviewed some of their styles. Well, next year, they will offer even more fashion options for bigger busts! On these first three pictures you can see their Artemis full-bust bralette.

While this bralette will not be bra sized, it was made with the More size range in mind (32 to 38 DD to G cup). The size will go from S to XL with the S being comparable to a 32E/F and M being comparable to a 34F according to Bluebella’s PR. I am deeply hoping that I will still fit into the Medium.

While bralettes are supposed to be wireless, I thought the Gossard Sport Lux bra could be put into this post as it has the appearance of a fashion and supportive longline bralette. I really like that Gossard extented their size range for this style. Usually the brand goes up to an E cup for this kind of bras but next year they’ll be available from a 32 to a 38 band with cups from B to G. I really like this racer back!

Tramonte in an Italian brand that I discovered at Curve this Summer. Their garments are designed and made in Italy in a 100% solar-powered facility. Their lace is Italian as well.
Tramonte is specialized in loungewear and everything comfy. Something I liked with this brand was their super wide range of colorways for most of their garments. Here is their Ivana lace bralette, which comes in four colorways : white, black, beige and navy. This is funny, since some other pieces come in more than 20 different colorways. Ivana also comes in 3 sizes: 2,3,4 which would be S-M-L. This is not a very wide range but I think it might be worth a try to see how it fits fuller busts. This lace was super soft and stretchy. (Yeah, I am basically trying every bralette that crosses my way x) )

Here is a sweet little satin and lace bralette from Lepel/Audelle! It is called Caitlin and comes in UK size 6 to 14. I am unsure if this would fit fuller busts but it features 3 sets of 2 hooks and eyes and has adjustable staps, which are interesting elements.

After Freya Fancies bralettes, here is a new fullbust bralette that is supposed to fit the whole Freya size range. I forgot its name, but I like that is features hooks and eyes at the back! I am very curious about the fit of this piece since triangle bras aren’t known for being the best fit for fullbust women. This piece is really cute and delicate, with its triangle charme and modern grey “bow”. I hope I can put my hands on it when it gets released!

Here is its black version! I like this geometric yet floral design. It feels very young and the colour is so cute! If the fit is great as well, it would be very refreshing for many fullbust drawers!

Here is Parfait Adriana, a bra sized bralette made for fullbusted women from D to G cup with band from 30 to 40! This style is unlined and will come in black, white and sky blue.
This collection also offers babydolls in the same size range.

As you can see, this style is really structured. It seems to provide a great shape and has adjustable straps and side boning. The straps and band are actually wide enough to be comfortable and supportive.

I think the only way a bralette could last without stretching out too much is to feature the same back as a usual bra. I am so glad fullbust lingerie brands understood that!

You might know Panache Andorra bra, well here its non wired version! This non wired bra has a very nice construction and seems quite secure while being very feminine and delicate. It also seems to be very comfy and offer a full coverage. It will be available in a very generous size range, perhaps the widest I have come across so far : 30-40 bands and cups from D to H. It will be available in 5 colorways : Soft Blush (like the one on the pictures), Coral, Black, Pearl and white.

Here is Cleo Lyzy, a bra sized bralette with bands from 28 to 38 and cups from UK D to H! I love the wide elastic of the band. I think a thinner one would not be super comfortable as bralette bands tend to roll under the breasts. Once again, this triangle shape. Also, the coordinate has a new shape for Cleo. It is a very scalloped tanga brief.

Now I am excited to introduce Sugar Candy! I discovered the company literally the day before I met it at Curve. Amber from Scarlet letter posted about it on twitter and I got to see their promotional video. Well, I must say that they didn’t lie about its efficiency! The Sugar Candy bralette is available in a size range starting with bands from 30 to 40 and cups from F to HH.

It is available in a non-nursing version as well as the one I photographed. Look at these six sets of 3 and even 4 hooks and eyes! The structure of this bralette is meant to give the same feeling of separation and security as a wired bra. I received it in a size Small two days ago and I am already conquered! I’ve actually worn it outside, and forgot about it. The shape under my dress was similar to what I’d get with a bra, and it was super comfortable. I want several of these bralettes. They are amazing! Review to come!

Mayana Genevière is a Canadian brand born in Toronto. Their lingerie is still designed and made in Canada. I first discovered it on Instagram because of their parallel sizing concept. Actually their bralettes are sized as S to 3XL but they introduced a new size, the MII which is made for fullbusted ladies with a smaller back and should fit the sizes 36E, 34F, 36F 34G, 32H and 34H.

When I talked with the founder, she told me that a size SII will be introduced in the future, which I think should fit 30 to 32 backs from E to H cup. Note that the brand doesn’t use double letters after DD cups.
Their garments are very feminine and the use of a very soft stretch lace makes me think that they must be very comfortable. I hope I can try some of their garments at some point. They also offer bodysuits, babydolls and nursing bras.

Update: I can’t believe I forgot about it when I first wrote this post!

Silent Arrow is an indie Australian brand which makes affordable and super cute lingerie! I discovered them on Instagram because of their F.U collection which was featured by plenty of Australian models and bloggers. This babe is available in cup A to G. The brand also has a little full-bust collection which includes wired bras up to a G cup. I’ll probably talk about it later! Anyway, I really liked the designer’s energy and her lingerie is so much fun!

And then there is Impish Lee, a brand that you probably already know for their super customizable products! Impishlee size range goes from UK A to GG cups with bands from 28 to 40.

They offer different shapes of bralettes but they also offer loungewear and wired bras. The amount of different colors, fabrics, and cuts possibilities is overwhelming.

I am personally happy to see all those new options but what do you guys think about them? What are you looking for in a bralette? Prettiness or comfort? I personally look for both but I think we can’t obviously expect a bralette to be a wired bra. Knowing that, do you feel comfortable going outside the house with a bralette? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! ❤

Bisous bisous!

Curve NY Preview: Scantilly & Curvy Kate lingerie SS18

Hey guys! I know I haven’t been very present lately but trust me it was for the best! I have been traveling and thinking, fixing some issues and now I am coming back to you with exciting news! Curve NY was very interesting and I have way too many things to show you!
But let’s start somewhere! I know y’all are very into Scantilly lingerie so here are the new upcoming styles, and some as soon as November!

My favorite is definitely Decadence (coming in January) which is a three-part balcony bra with vertical seams. I love that it provides a low coverage but still seems wearable as an everyday bra! I love half-cups but balcony is the way to go if you want uplift and practicality. I love vertical seams in balcony bras because then, you get that shape that is called “corbeille” in French which is supposed to provide discreet cleavage and a round shape. Sadly this kind of styles are often made in core sizes only so I am always happy to see brands making it possible for larger cups as well.

Decadence features neat edges and very sheer cups. It reminds me of a tuxedo 🤵 but at the same time makes me think about the sports wear aesthetic. I especially like the suspender belt which is a great coordinate to the knickers’ strappy back.

The bra is kind of a midi-line with its large underbreasts band, and as you can see from the back, it features 3 sets of four hooks and eyes and fully adjustable straps.

Now here is another amazing set! Actually one of the comfiest unlined plunge I have tried so far. Knockout is back in a lovely red colorway. Still very sheer and featuring the same stretchy mesh, I think this one will be on my wish list. However, if you haven’t read my review, I highly recommend to size down in the cup if you are not full on top. I got it in the latte colorway in a 30G and I still have room for my smaller breast.

Still in love with the cutout on the gore and all those rose gold rings! And although the latte was nice, I think this colorway would fit a wider range of skin tones!

Captivate is a mix between Marie-Antoinette cleavage and the cutouts/strappy trend. It reminds me a little bit of Playful Promises Tamara collection but the Marie-Antoinette touch makes the big difference. Here, I like the contrast between the two coordinates. The sheer high waisted panty keeps you all dressed and secure, while featuring a nice cutout at the back, and the thong, which looks more like a short with wide side cutouts , only suggests coverage.  This set weirdly reminds me of a 18th century British military uniform (probably because of the cross at the gore and on the front of the panty) but as usual I am probably going too far. I am constantly see Amazon/warrior inspiration in boudoir lingerie.

I really like the strong black accents. I think they really give structure to this set. Scantilly style becomes more and more recognizable. Definitely feminine, never cheesy.
Talking about the fit, even without having tried it on, I would suggest to size up in the cup for this bra, I think Scantilly half-cups are always kind of shallow and are made for a true “cakes on a plate” effect. But I might be wrong. Let me know if you put your hands on it when it is released! 🙂
Scantilly size range goes from 30 to 38 bands and cup DD to HH, except in the Peek-a-Boo and Surrender permanent collection which go up to a 40HH. The brand just extended their size range for these styles.

Now let me introduce to you some new Curvy Kate collections! Some SS18 styles really made me think the brand is taking an interesting direction.

So here is Sheer Joy, a beautiful and delicate balconnet bra, which in my opinion would be as appropriate for winter as it would be for Spring. I love this print. I love how the blue pops out against the black mesh and details of this bra, and look at this blue edges at the top of the cup! This set makes me think of an evening in a European forest, with a watercourse, dragonflies and stars making everything more shiny and romantic.
The size range for this set goes from 30 to 44 bands and D to K cups.

Jinx is, according to Curvy Kate, a re-luxe of the sportswear trend. I personally see it as a little bit of Scantilly in the Curvy Kate everyday options, which is great for those of you who like the strappy strend but wear, for example, a 40J. This set should give you the fit of your everyday lingerie, with the spirit of a more boudoir set.
I do perceive something more sporty in the material but the padded cups, the deep plunge styling and the straps definitely make me think of something more sexy. The short goes from UK size 10 to 20.

Lifestyle which will be available in black, latte and red (kind of an orangey red) is also a new style for Curvy Kate. I like the double rings details at the straps and gore and the colour makes it more sporty for me than the Jinx. Look at the lines at the top of the cups. Lifestyle feels light, minimalist. This set looks young and “active”, plus it actually fits the model like a dream! I would almost see it in a swimwear version, perhaps less transparent.

Dragonfly is my candy crush of this collection! This set is too sweet! It looks a little bit different from usual Curvy Kate collections. I wish I took a picture of the adorable babydoll. It features a longline-bra and sheer black “skirt” (already on my wishlist). I like the combination of colours, the super sheer cups and wide underbreast band. Plus, you can’t see it  well on this pictures but it has double straps. I am not a fan of pink but I love how this almost neon pink floodlights the warm purple and black mesh. This set is super playful and I would love to see how it fits in bigger cup sizes! The babydoll and bra go from a 30 to a 44 band and cup D to J (although the cup sizes go up to a G with the 42 and 44 bands).

I know that some of you prefer smooth, practical and more discreet lingerie so here is the Smoothie Soul in Navy. I personally don’t like T-shirt bras that much especially now that I have other options, but I think this one has a very nice geometric look! It reminds me of computer circuits. The blue mold cups are lined with a thin mesh that creates this geometric picture. When the panty is worn, the mesh stretches and also shows the pattern. You can also wear it as a racer back! This set is like an easy to wear pair of jeans!

Curvy Kate well-known Princess bra will soon be available in a plunge version as well. You’ll be able to find it in black as a continuity and in this Lemon colorway next winter. A brazilian panty has also been added to the collection.

Back in the sporty minimalist vibe with Victory! You must have seen this set in black last season. Victory is one of the more structured bra I have seen from this brand, with four-parts cups and a very full coverage. The cutout at the gore gives it a modern touch and the triangle charms makes it sporty and accentuates its geometric look. I have seen a lot of triangle charms at Curve NY this summer by the way! This is another bra that I would see as a bikini. Nice addition to the CK collection!

After Hours is one of those sets that really emphasize Curvy Kate’s aesthetic but if you look carefully, you might notice a touch of Scantilly in this new style! Actually, I am not into leopard prints, but this is not a print! It’s a lace over an almond base! I really like this detail as it looks more classy than a usual an so common animal print. Also, you can see black satin on the front part of the brief. This would be another option for ladies who love the Scantilly range but size out of it. Look at the bottom of the cup: I like the three little seams that give the illusion of ruched fabric. After Hours goes from a 30D to a 40J.

What do you think of Curvy Kate new collection? Are you more into practical lingerie or is it all about ruffles and lace? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section :-*

Sending you love!

Curve NY Preview: Tutti Rouge SS17 capsule collection

The birds & the bees

From left to right: Chloe, Pixie, Amelia

If you don’t already know about Tutti Rouge, I think you must have missed out a little piece of fun in the lingerie world! This brand launched in 2013 has a really wide size range (28-38 D – HH) and their collections usually are a wind of cuteness for full busted ladies! It is all about colorful patterns and cute girly details! I wish they existed when I was a teen because at this point of my life affordable lingerie was only black and white. Tutti Rouge is a really refreshing brand and they really work hard to improve their pattern and bring something new to this industry.

Tutti Rouge loves to classify their designs in shoes categories so let me introduce the Stilettos of this capsule collection:

Sukki 28-38 D-HH cup

First, Sukki! This absolutely adorable three part balconnet bra features detachable straps: on the right you can see the detachable strap on, and on the left the (not really-)basic straps. I love this design as it is less dark than the usual strappy trend while it is still sophisticated. Tutti Rouge is never behind on their detailing and the pattern of the cups is very interesting.  Also you can see the nice heart sliders, which are Tutti Rouge signature on these fully-adjustable straps! I hope this color will suit my skin tone cause it would be a very nice addition to my collection!

Chloe 28-38 D-HH cup

This very bright babe is a new Tutti Rouge shape which is kind of a midi-line. This makes it really attractive to me, actually. My love for longline bras is unconditional ahah! Well, this bra is not a longline but I think the scalloping around the band creates an illusion that I like.
The apex is very high and it looks like it gives a nice push up effect. As you can see the panty is very high waisted but for those of you who are not into this shape, a thong will also be available. Tutti Rouge coordinates are available in a XS to XXL size range.

Amelia 28-38 D-HH cup

Amelia is a lovely half cup bra which can feed your desire for lift and rounded shapes. But what really surprised me about this bra was its back which features cute lace triangles to embellish the straps. I am very sorry I completely forgot to photograph it but you can find a picture of it on the blog of the Petite Collegiate who was with me when I went to this booth. So this bra is all about details. The tiny polka dots on the top of the cups and the floral lace gave me a sweet impression. This design is really youthful. Also the bottom of the cup is kind of ruched which makes it very elegant.

The Kitten Heels :

Nichole 28-38, D-HH cup

If you know Tutti Rouge, you must know Nichole. This bra quickly became an essential of the brand. For SS17 they bring this style again in a cute orange leopard colorway. But wait! I can get what you are thinking right now… Why bringing this again if they aren’t any changes? (ahah or maybe you weren’t wondering this and were just happy with this new refreshing colorway?) Well, this time Nichole comes back with a racer back with heart hook detailing!
I am personally in love with this style (review here) but the first one that I bought had a hard tacking gore issue! Again the brand decided to improve itself and the last Nichole I tried didn’t have this issue so I think this orange one will mostly have advantages for me as the shape this style gives to my breasts is absolutely fabulous.

Pixie, 28-38 D-HH cup**

** (This picture is courtesy of the Petite Collegiate)
Here’s Pixie, a cute unpadded plunge bra with printed satin and innocent white lace on the top of the cup! I admit that white lingerie is not my cup of tea but this style might please a lot of young women who love innocent yet sexy designs. Pixie is supposed to give a great cleavage for an unpadded bra and also has a pretty low gore (what I really appreciate having close-set boobs…). I see a balance between the kid drawings inspired print and the corset inspired gore and plunge shape. This bra will be very nice for summer!

The Platforms:

Jessica  28-38 d-HH cup

So… HERE IS THE AMAZING JESSICA! To be honest this colorway is supposed to be for AW16 but I saw it and had to take a picture for the more curious of you who already know the continuity colorways (black and ivory).  I tried this style in the black colorway and I have been very surprised with the so perfect fit and nice cleavage it gave me even without the pads. Ahaah! They actually give a ridiculous cleavage if that’s what you are looking for! I do recommend this bra ! (I usually am very unlucky with plunges even the unpadded ones and this bra was just the more perfect fit I could imagine!)

Ballet Pump:

Lexi 28-38 D-HH cup

Last but not least, Lexi is my favourite design of this capsule collection!  I just love its aesthetic. Simple, cute, elegant, less is definitely more. This bra is really well situated in the ballet pump section! Well, I don’t like these shoes on me (I actually don’t like flat shoes and if I could only wear high heels I’d do it) but I still find them cute and the ballet inspiration is really present here. It looks like the cadet sister of Sukki !I love this color so much! Also the cut out mesh front is giving a little sexy touch that I need to see on my own boobs!

What do you think of “The birds & the bees” Tutti Rouge collection? Are you into colors and prints in your lingerie drawers or are you more into sophisticated black lace ?

Well, this post was my last Curve NY preview, and I hope it was useful!
I am so grateful and happy for what this last Summer brought in my life! Lingerie is definitely my bigger passion and I hope to be able to go next year to this exposition and continue meeting amazing people on my way!

Yours truly,

Wen. ❤

Curve NY Preview: Some very nice discoveries …

I feel like this year has definitely been wonderful for full busted lingeristas! I have read so many things about how the full bust and plus size market is growing and how lingerie brands are now seeing the interest of extending their size range. Playful Promises, as an indie brand really upgraded its game creating not only a full bust range but also a plus size range in a lot of different styles and pieces! But it is true that the gap is not filled yet in the lingerie industry. That’s why I was really happy to see at curve that some very nice brands were extending their size range for next year!

Let’s start with a brand which I love since the beginning: Nubian Skin. Apart from the fact that its name is absolutely gorgeous, this brand is a game changer in the lingerie industry. Look at this booth! Don’t you feel this feminine empowerment spirit? Ahaha! Yeah I am excited! And I was sooo glad to meet the founder! Ahah! I am not a groupie but, it’s not every day that you get to meet a business woman who worked hard to fill the gap of the skin diversity in the lingerie world. Well, it is weird to imagine that the people who run this industry never found interesting to provide WOC with nude lingerie. As if they didn’t exist or didn’t wear underwear. But well, it is another subject.

Some of you might already know this brand very well but, this summer I was with my family and my aunt, who is a young 30 something woman told me that she didn’t know that they were interesting options of hosiery for women of color. “It’s always too dark or too light” she said. And as she was very surprised when I mentioned Nubian Skin, I realized that not everybody knew about this brand. The reason might be that not everybody likes to do online shopping and not a lot of European stores retail this brand.
Nubian skin actually offers four tones of brown in their underwear, stockings, pantyhose’s and thighs high : Berry, Cinnamon, Caramel and Café au lait. I am sorry for the quality of my pictures but this booth did not have the best lighting. That could explain why one of the pantyhose looks more mustard than Café au lait.

This brand has been selling bras from A to DD cup and from a 30 to a 40 band ( I heard that they run small so maybe some 28 gals could be happy with their 30) and bottoms from a size S to XL.
One super interesting point is that the founder told me that she was working on a prototype of nude bra up to a G cup for this winter! Aaaaaah SO exciting right? Well, if you don’t believe it go to their website and you’ll see that some pieces of the new collection are already available to pre-order! And they do have G cups, double letters and all! 😀 I need to try the Shadow bra. But to be honest I hope the nude ones will be ready to purchase this winter! I haven’t figured out yet if I would need the Café au lait or the Caramel, though. I think I’ll start with the stockings ❤ .
If you haven’t noticed I am super excited about this brand. I think they are always working to improve themselves and the way they advertise their product is a wind of empowerment for women of color. Their latest campaign is AMAZING. The model is gorgeous and I love her natural vibe. It’s sooo rare to see a woman like her represented in the lingerie world. The lookbook and video are simply incredible.

Another cute find, Chasney Beauty!

Tap Dance B-D cup, 32-38 band

Byzantine B-D cup, 32-38 band

I am happy to introduce this relatively young brand, that I discovered at Curve. Chasney beauty , created by a British designer, is very popular in the Asian market.
They usually create lingerie in core size but what made it more appealing to me was their decision to extend the size range up to a G cup for SS17!

Byzantine padded bra B-D cup , 32-38 band

Dessert Lover (front), Salamandre (behind) B-D cup, 32-38 band

As you can see, this brand makes really feminine garments. It is all about leavers lace, satin and silk and I find something pinup-ish to their collection.
So these two lovely baby blue bras are pieces from their full bust collection. I like the polka-dots fabric, it makes everything very innocent.

Bubble Tea Party D-G cup (UK) , 30-40 band

Bubble Tea Party D-G cup, 30-40 band

Green and black in lingerie! I really like the shape of this bra, which is going to be available up to a G cup too. As you can see, Chasney Beauty offers different types of bras, in different shapes and soon in a wider size range!

Sassy kiss D-G cup, 30-40 band

Byzantine B-D cup, 32-38 band

This red and beige version the Byzantine is very “antique-glamour”. I love the black and beige unpadded version for the precious detailing, but the shape of the padded one is very elegant too! I love burgundy and this might give an interesting nude/tattoo effect depending on your skin color. I’d love to see this style in the full bust size range!
About the panties, Chasney Beauty offers sizes from S to XXL. They also have some adorable pieces of nightwear/loungewear featuring huge black bows and eye lashes lace!
This brand is actually more in a luxury price range, but I hope to know more about it and its fitting in the future…

And now a little bit of the fun and love, from the brand Only Hearts 😀 . Thanks to Jeanna from Bluestockings I didn’t miss out these gorgeous pieces of nightwear.
These drawings are so delicate, so romantic. And the color of the fabric goes so perfectly with them! I wish I could afford these pieces because they are definitely the kind of garments that would have a nice place in my collection. SO unique!

It’s time to end this post guys, hope you liked it and I promise I am almost done with my Curve previews. It is so hard to write on command. ^^’ I can only do it when my heart is available. Hopefully this week is the one.

Love. Hope y’all are safe and happy.

Curve NYC Preview : Aubade SS17

Several years ago, I used to spend a lot of time in one of Toulouse Aubade stores, and a lovely Aubade lady, seeing that I was struggling with their size range told me that they were thinking about extending it. Unfortunately I had the time to move to Canada before this project happened.

So a month ago when I heard about the Capsule collection x Christian Lacroix and the new “ideal shape” from D to G cup, I was head over heels again! However I wasn’t sure if they would really extend the size range or if that would be an unique collection.
Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to Aubade booth at Curve and I was delighted to discover that the brand made my dream come true and created some gorgeous pieces from D to G cup not only in the “comfort full cup” shape but also in a lovely “comfort half cup” shape and some spacers. This post will only feature the pieces which will be available up to a G cup.

Bahia Couture in Papaya

If you know Aubade you probably also know the iconic Bahia (which looks like the last picture of the post). This range is one of the continuity of the brand but this year they recreated it in a more luxurious version : the Bahia Couture. The Bahia Couture is also the version that goes up to a G cup. You can already find it in the Rose nude colorway but for SS17 it will be released in White and Papaya. I am personally in love with the Papaya colorway! The corset tie on the gore is different than the usual corset tie of the Bahia, which is usually made with a thick string (which gives this particular style that we know) instead of this delicate and flat ribbon. Bahia Couture range is more classy than the original range but for some unknown reason, the “comfort half cup” doesn’t feature the same corset tie. So basically in the full bust size range, Bahia couture will be like the white one that you can see on the last picture of the post.

Rive Gauche Passion in Black

Rive Gauche in Gala

My favourite design in this collection is Rive Gauche Passion. This set is just the kind of lingerie I’ve always dreamt to wear. The pattern is absolutely gorgeous and the cups features this delicious embroidery. I absolutely adore the design of the straps going all the way to the bottom of the cups! It makes this bra so sophisticated!
Aubade also created the Gala colorway, which they call the “Aubade red”. I think this colorway is beautiful and will be perfect for Christmas!

La Parisienne in Lily

La Parisienne in Myosotis

Another cute piece is La Parisienne, which will be available in two colorway: Myosotis and Lily. I am sorry for the bad quality of the picture of the myosotis but it is supposed to be a dark purple-blue. The Calais Leavers lace is very delicate and I love that the straps are the same for the full bust range and the core sizes range. Well, they are wider (which is nice) but with the same design. This collection in my opinion is nice for every day and must be pretty easy to wear!

Magic blossom in Pansy

The new Aubade Comfort Full-Cup shape, I think, is based on their usual 3/4 bra, which is a three-part balconnet. This new one is fully lined with tulle and featuring narrow wires. Aubade has developed this underwiring especially for this new shape so we can expect that they really had full busted women in mind. If I remember well, their full-busted range also features 3 sets of 2(not 3, my mistake) hooks and eyes for the band but with a wider band than the core collections and also wider straps than usual.
I like that they didn’t do things halfway! But in a few days I’ll try some of the styles of AW16 collections so I can give you more info about the fitting.
The size range for the Comfort Full cup bras is from a 30/80 to a 42/110 band up to E cup and from a 32/85 to a 38/100 band up to a G cup.

Wandering love (White)

Wandering love (Dream)

Wandering Love features the typical Aubade aesthethic, with its blooming flowers and its spaghetti straps ( on the full bust collection, they are wider and not exactly the same as you can see on the white colorway). I love the Dream colorway! It is such a nice color for summer!
The full bust range will only be available in the full-cup shape but in both colorways.
A spacer will also be available in this collection (only in white). The cup volume will stop to a 34/90G and sister sizes.

Well, it is not very clear to every one so let me explain properly.
B cup :32/85 to a 40/105 band
C-Dcup: 30/80 to 40/105 band
E cup:30/80 to 38/100 band
F cup:30/80 to 36/95 band
G cup: 30/80 to 34/90 band

Aubade à L’Amour  Full cup shape (Nacre)

Aubade à L’Amour Comfort Half cup (Nacre)

Aubade à l’Amour is a delicate collection. It will be available in Black and Nacre. In Nacre it is just perfect for bridal! The guipure patterns and lovely tulle details make it sophisticated yet discret. This range will feature three shapes up to a G cup : The Full-cup, the Half cup and the Spacer. The Spacer will be available in the same size range as the Wandering love.

Bahia Couture Comfort Half Cup in White.

I was super happy to see all these new pieces! A lot of luxury brands and indie are extending their size range this year and it is just amazing for full busted women to have new possibilities in the lingerie world! I really hope this collection will be true to size! I am actually looking for lingerie stores which carry the full bust ranges that are already available! If I am lucky enough to fit inside one of these amazing sets, I think I’ll review it as soon as possible!

Until next time,

Curve NYC Preview: Scantilly SS17 collection

Hey guys! This year is so special for me… I got to do so many things for the first time and it is just so exciting! So I just spent a month in the United States and I was lucky enough to go to Curve expo also! I won’t lie… I was really intimidated but I finally met the Petite Collegiate and we found our way in this event!
I have a lot of nice things to show you but this new Scantilly collection really caught my attention and I just want to try every one of those styles…
If you didn’t know it, Scantilly is the little sassy sister of Curvy Kate and provides sexy and elegant lingerie in a relatively wide size range: 30-38 DD to HH and S to XL for the bottoms (less wide than Curvy Kate but very impressive for this kind of designs).
Well, let’s see how gorgeous is this new collection!

This sophisticated babe is called Lavish and combines lace, faux leather and cut out. I love it! I wanna say that I usually don’t like faux leather in clothing because when it is not used “properly” it can really make things look cheap. But Lavish and Unleash (see the picture at the end of the post) look everything but cheap!
Lavish is a beautiful half cup bra that is supposed to give you an amazing cakes on a plate look. The lace on the gore and around the cups reminds me of a peacock’s wings and I think it looks different from the usual floral or other girly laces that we can see everywhere in the lingerie world. Lavish has attitude. It is not girly, in my opinion it would make anybody look confident with some kind of badass touch !
The back is made from black mesh but the gold finishes makes it looks more luxurious and complete. About the bottom, the one on the picture is an ouvert thong (hard to make something more open than this piece ahaha!) and a super cute/sexy short will also be available.

The very well known Peek-A-Boo in violet is once again a very nice set ( but I have to say that my favourite colorway is Chartreuse). As you can see it is all about satin and mesh! A pretty unlined balconette bra which can easily be worn under clothes and really gives some oomph to your breasts even being unpadded! I would say that the only “negative” thing that I’ve heard about this bra ( and can be applied to the whole brand) is that it starts from a 30band. But, you know, when a brand takes the risk to create something new and relatively expensive, at least at the beginning they try to touch the biggest part of their customers. It is understandable and I think it is really possible that they extend their size range at some point. So if you are out of their size range, keep hope!

Vamp, I think, is really aptly named. This set definitely has a romantic, middle age-ish vibe while being definitely modern and following the strappy trend. The geometric details remind me of gothic architecture, and the dark mesh looks like a dark but delicate smoke which hides without hidding the more intimate parts of your body.
I do like the suspender belt which is actually not made for holding stockings but more for highlighting the lovely curves of your body. These black lines give a very sexy look to the hips, butt and tighs area and the ouvert panty just adds a playful feeling to this set.

Knockout in Latte is one of my favourite sets of this collection! I just hope it will fit my asymmetric boobs and my skin tone but as you can see on the second picture, it is not a real nude for this model, since her skin is a warmer color than the set but it still looks really good!
I like the geometric design, the cuts out and nude tone! Also this range comes with a very nice suspender belt (so sorry that I can’t show you ) that you can attach to the panty via the ring in the middle. This ensemble creates an amazing silhouette, very sensual and I can see some kind of art deco inspiration too.

The Tuxedo bodysuit is actually more of a playful lingerie piece and should fit almost everybody. What makes this piece different is that it can really add something to a normal set but if you wear it without bra you might look like a cute and sophisticated present too! I have seen a lot of bodysuits in the same spirit but which only looked sexy and not very classy and I think the Tuxedo is the right combination of cuteness, sophistication and sexyness. Once again you can see Scantilly signature with the gold finishes that make this piece look like a real accessory and not only a bedroom rig-out.

Unleash is, I think my favourite set of this Scantilly collection. It is all that I need these days : SIMPLE AND BADASS. It has this perfecto* feeling, like you’re going to ride a motorcycle just wearing this set and super cool boots and go save the innocents… This set is my modern super hero/vilain set. Ahaha! I am in love with the non girly details! This little belts are everything! Don’t get me wrong, I am and I think I’ll always be a sucker for huge bows but a part of me sometimes, just want to wear a pair of jeans, a System of a Down t-shirt and my lovely pair of Dr.Martens. This set really suits this part of my personality. Also I am dying for this huge key hole in the back of the high waisted knickers! I like the clear cut of this set. Nothing is too much, nothing is missing. It is definitely on my wish list!

*Perfecto as a motorcycle leather jacket.DSC04834

The Voodoo is the more strappy set of this collection and also reminds me of powerful witches! This set, even if it is not my favourite, makes me think of the perfect uniform for a tribe of Amazons. The pictures talk for themselves! I think Voodoo illustrates very well the “fearless” spirit of Scantilly.

Overall I have been conquered by this new Scantilly collection and I am positively surprised to see that this one is even more audacious than their first collections! I am a fan!

Did you try Scantilly before? What do you think of this new collection?

Until next time!
